But I think Pope will be more measured in his approach. He will follow the plans that have been set out but he will also make sure he’s got the backing of his players, especially the senior players like Root and Woakes.

It’s a great opportunity for Pope. He’s a young player with a good head on his shoulders and he will have an idea of what he wants. He’s a calm character so I think he will be able to handle the pressure of captaincy well.
He will have the support of his players and the coaching staff, so I think he will do a good job in Stokes’ absence.
