Después de anunciar el octubre pasado que tiene un nuevo álbum en camino, Tori Amos ha presentado In Times of Dragons. Su lanzamiento está programado para el 1 de mayo a través de Universal/Fontana. Este será el decimoctavo álbum de la cantautora, siguiendo a Ocean to Ocean del 2021 y la banda sonora del libro infantil *Tori and the Muses* del año pasado. Amos también ha anunciado una gira por EE.UU. este verano; puedes consultar el itinerario abajo.
“In Times of Dragons es una historia metafórica sobre la lucha de la Democracia contra la Tiranía, reflejando el actual y aborrecible incendio no accidental de la democracia en tiempo real por parte de los ‘Demonios Lagarto creyentes en el Dictador’ en su usurpación de América”, declaró Amos en un comunicado.
Para la portada recién revelada, la fotógrafa Kasia Wozniak trabajó con positivos directos en papel usando el proceso RA-4, capturando todo con una cámara de gran formato. “Cada fotografía fue compuesta, tomada y procesada lentamente”, comentó Wozniak. “Fue mágico entrelazar el trabajo y visión de Tori con el mío propio. Nos movimos de fotografía en fotografía con un ritmo intuitivo, alineadas en cada toma. El proceso se convirtió en una especie de ritual.”
Amos añadió: “Trabajar con Kasia y la estilista Karen Binns para dar vida a la historia y los personajes fue una experiencia realmente conmovedora. Ver nuestras colaboraciones tomar forma, con ellas y todo el equipo, me acompañará para siempre.”
