El exjugador sudafricano Hashim Amla no incluyó a la leyenda india Virat Kohli en su equipo histórico de Test. Amla eligió a su excompañero en los Proteas, Graeme Smith, como uno de los abridores, junto con el gran australiano Matthew Hayden.

Smith terminó su carrera en Test con 9,265 carreras, mientras Hayden anotó 8,625 carreras en su carrera de 103 partidos.
