No sé cuánto has estado escribiendo o sintiéndote inspirado recientemente, pero ¿hay días en los que las cosas se sienten tan cíclicas o desesperanzadas que temes reflejar estas cualidades en tu música?
Hay días en los que me siento realmente, realmente inspirado y quiero hacer música porque tengo esperanza en la humanidad. Creo que mucha de la música que necesita hacerse en este momento es para sanar a las personas, por lo que debe haber elementos de eso encontrados tanto sonora como contextualmente en la música. Necesitamos dejar de ser tan falsos en este momento, tan superficiales de ciertas maneras, y sanar a las personas más jóvenes y al mundo antes de que estemos tan adoctrinados que todos se sientan sin esperanza. Quiero decir, amo la música. Creo que es increíble. Cambió por completo mi vida, por supuesto, y hay música que es tan importante para mí que ha sido una luz espiritual en mi propio camino místico. James Brown, Can y Alice Coltrane – música que te atrapa y también te libera. Hay una parte de mí que piensa: “Voy a hacer esto por el resto de mi vida. Voy a hacer música”.
