Chrissie Hynde de The Pretenders anuncia nuevo álbum de duetos, Duets Special, que sale el 17 de octubre por Rhino. Acreditado como Chrissie Hynde & Pals, incluye colaboraciones con Brandon Flowers de The Killers, Julian Lennon, Cat Power, Dave Gahan de Depeche Mode, Debbie Harry de Blondie, Alan Sparhawk de Low, Shirley Manson de Garbage, Lucinda Williams, Dan Auerbach de The Black Keys y el difunto Mark Lanegan. Versionan canciones de Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Morrissey, Low, 10cc, The Righteous Brothers, Billy Paul y Brenda Holloway. "Nunca había pensado en hacer un álbum de duetos. Creo que la idea surgió en 2023", dijo Hynde en un comunicado. "Estaba hablando por teléfono con Jörn, el esposo de Rufus Wainwright. Creo que nos recomendábamos novelas y, por alguna razón, dije ‘Oye, tal vez Rufus y yo deberíamos hacer algo’, y rápidamente apunté 10 canciones que se me ocurrieron. Jörn le preguntó a Rufus, quien aceptó, y así empezó. Algo espontáneo y que pensé sería divertido."
