After speaking with Maresca and hearing about the positive environment at Leicester, Van Nistelrooy felt it was the right move for him.
He said, “I had a really good feeling about it. I had a good chat with Enzo, he explained to me how the club works and what the club wants to achieve. I spoke with the owners and the board and I felt that I could add something to this group of players and staff.”
Van Nistelrooy will now look to continue his managerial career at Leicester and build on the success he achieved at Manchester United during his short interim spell.
