Los robots de entrega están a punto de convertirse en una presencia habitual en las calles de Zúrich. En concreto, los denominados robo-dogs, que se están desplegando para transportar comida rápida desde un restaurante local llamado Zekis World.
Se trata de un programa piloto impulsado por la plataforma de entrega de alimentos Solo come Takeaway.com y su socio, la compañía suiza de robótica Rivr.
Estos Robo-Dogs con patas y ruedas están equipados con inteligencia artificial física, lo que les permite subir escaleras, sortear obstáculos como latas o césped, y desplazarse con seguridad cerca de peatones, vehículos y ciclistas.
Pueden desplazarse a velocidades de hasta 15 km/h y son resistentes a la lluvia, la nieve, las altas temperaturas y el viento. Cada pedido se monitoriza en tiempo real, y el robot puede ser controlado de forma remota si es necesario.
Just Eat Takeaway.com afirmó que se trata del primer servicio de reparto a demanda en Europa que utiliza robots híbridos con patas y ruedas, equipados con IA física.
RIVR tiene previsto desplegar estos robots para el transporte de paquetes, productos, comestibles y comida fresca en el futuro.
"Planeamos introducir más unidades en otras ciudades europeas a finales de este año, con una posible expansión en tiendas minoristas y de conveniencia", señaló la empresa en un comunicado.
Marko Bjelonic, director ejecutivo de RIVR, declaró: "Nuestra colaboración con Just Eat Takeaway.com es un avance hacia un futuro en el que la automatización se integra de forma lógica en nuestras ciudades, ayudando a las personas a obtener lo que necesitan, cuando lo necesitan.
