UPDATE

Stay active with Apple Watch

Apple Watch users are encouraged to close their Activity rings on April 24 to earn a special limited-edition award for Global Close Your Rings Day. Apple Watch is known for being the world’s most popular watch and an essential fitness and health companion. With advanced sensor technology, Apple Watch provides users with valuable insights into their workouts, training, and overall health, including sleep, heart health, and menstrual health.

For the past decade, Apple Watch’s Activity rings have offered a simple and customizable way for users to stay active throughout the day. To promote a healthier lifestyle, all Apple Watch users are encouraged to close their Activity rings on April 24 to earn a special limited-edition award and animated stickers for Messages.

On April 24, users can share their fitness achievements using #CloseYourRings and those who close all three Activity rings will receive a limited-edition award, 10 animated stickers, and an animated badge for Messages. Customers can also pick up a special pin inspired by the award at Apple Store locations worldwide starting on April 24.

A recent analysis of data from the Apple Heart and Movement Study, which includes over 140,000 participants, showed positive associations between closing Activity rings and improved sleep, heart health, and mental wellbeing. Participants who frequently closed their rings were less likely to experience poor sleep quality, elevated resting heart rate levels, and elevated stress levels.

The Activity app on Apple Watch encourages users to meet daily goals for active calories burned, minutes of brisk activity, and hours stood up. Users can also track various workouts, participate in Activity challenges, monitor fitness metrics, track sleep, and receive insights on heart health, menstrual cycles, and more.
