Wycombe pushed for an equaliser in the dying moments, but Charlton held firm to secure their place in the play-off final.
It was a dramatic and emotional night for Charlton, who will now face Leyton Orient at Wembley with a place in the Championship at stake. Don’t miss the final on Sunday May 25, live on Sky Sports Football.
We’ve done well but we’re not there yet. It’s nice to be in a final, but only the winner of the final is remembered. We’ve got a tough game ahead of us, but we’ll be ready for it.
It’s been a wonderful journey. We’ve got a fantastic group of players, a fantastic support staff, and a fantastic club. They’re all determined to get this club back to where it belongs.
We’ve shown great character and resilience all season. We’ve had some tough times, but we’ve always bounced back. I’m so proud of the players and everyone involved with the club.
We’re going to enjoy this moment, but we know the job is not done yet. We’ll be ready for the final and we’ll give it everything we’ve got to come out on top.
